AMUD currently treating water with free cholorine

In order to help keep our water system free of microbial contamination and safe to drink, AMUD is temporarily changing the disinfectant used from chloramine to free chlorine starting on November 2, 2013.  Free chlorine is a more effective disinfectant, and since groundwater (wells) are currently meeting our reduced water needs during this time of year, there is no risk for the formation of disinfectant by products.

With this change in disinfectants, you may detect a slight difference in the taste of your water, however please be assured that your water remains safe for all household uses.

Please call the office at (817)326-4720 if you have any questions.
