Water System Update
February 18, 2021
Follow link for Boil Water Notice still in effect
As many of you are aware, the Acton/DeCordova and Indian Harbor areas are still experiencing very little or no water pressure at this time. The rolling electrical outages have taken a toll on our groundwater production capabilities. In addition, the surface water treatment plant which plays a vital role in supplementing our water supplies has been out of service for the past several days due to the inclement weather as well. In short, the demand for water is exceeding our current production capability at this time.
As the weather moderates and we are able to bring additional treatment capacity on line, we expect to begin recovering system pressures within our water distribution system. Once this occurs, the District will take disinfection samples for lab analysis to ensure the water is safe for consumption. Please be aware that we are under a boil water notice for the areas listed above, so even after system pressure is returned to normal, please continue to boil your water before consuming it until we receive an “all clear” from our lab samples. We will post an update when the boil water notice can be lifted.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this emergency situation.
