Water line repaired, service getting back to normal

Repairs to the water transmission line are complete, and water pressure is back to normal in Pecan Plantation.

Officials with Acton Municipal Utility District reported Monday morning that a contractor in the Pecan Plantation area ruptured a 12-inch water transmission line in the vicinity of AMUD’s elevated water storage tank.

This resulted in a water service outage for the majority of Pecan Plantation residents.

“Out of an abundance of caution, AMUD is issuing a boil water notice for the Pecan Plantation area,” AMUD spokeswoman Cynthia Neal said.

Pecan water samples have been taken, and the results are expected late Wednesday or Thursday.  When lab results show all is clear, the boil water notice will be lifted.
